Bringing the past to life

I bring the past to life to make history more memorable, accessible and relatable. I have a passion for history and the lives of the people of the past, especially the ordinary working folk; the kinds of activities they were engaged in, how they fed and clothed themselves and the crafts they practised. My main focus is late Iron Age and Viking Age Britain, approx. 400 AD - 1000 AD.

I provide costumed historical interpretation at all sorts of venues and events, from museums, galleries and historical landmarks to festivals community events and school visits. I am very flexible in my approach and can deliver displays, demonstrations and workshops to suit all sorts of settings and audience, either as an individual attraction or part of a wider programme of events. I mostly offer displays and demonstrations of domestic activities, aiming to show people how their everyday lives differ from the people of the past.

Areas of Expertise

Focussing on the Iron Age or Viking Age I can deliver displays and demonstrations in the following subject areas, some are also available as workshops or can include hands-on elements. All can be adapted to suit different age groups and available time.
